We've ordered this product for years because the file folders come precollated, which is the way ALL three-cut file folders should be packaged. We recently opened a box and discovered the folders were not collated. Through the help of Linda at Staples we discovered the manufacturer has two folder-making machines: one collates, the other doesn't. So getting a box of collated file folders is "the luck of the draw." Staples should insist the manufacturer ONLY SEND THE PRECOLLATED FILE FOLDERS. To Staples: What's a little Buying Power if you can use it?! Your customers want the precollated product (read the reviews below). Please bring back the precollated file folders.

We order these for our office and at first they came precollated, but for the past few months they haven't been collated. I looked at the reviews and have a hard time believing that "it's the luck of the draw" as a Staples associate told another customer. If that's true we're pretty unlucky since we go through 3-4 boxes a month and have yet to receive one that's collated. It would be a great idea for Staples to bring that back. But until then, I'm going to start looking elsewhere.
Folders should be collated when received. I have received more than 3 boxes which were not collated. The point of ordering these collated is so that I don't have to take the time to do if myself and it is upsetting when they are not. Otherwise they are good quality and a good price.
I thought I ordered the wrong product when the last box I ordered arrived uncollated. Collating 250 files folders is not the best use of our time. I liked this product, but will be searching for a guarenteed collated product for the future.

If I wanted large sections of left tabs, or center tabs, or right tabs, I would buy the folders that way. When I buy assorted tabs it means I want them Left-Center-Right, the way they're ultimately filed. I grit my teeth and curse Staples (they used to come sorted) every time I open a box and have to hand-sort 250 files.
I have been purchasing these folder for years from Staples BECAUSE the box was collated. Since my last 2 shipments were NOT collated, I will be searching for another provider of these folders. I agree with the other comments, it's a pain in the butt to stand and collate 250 folders!
