Perfect Protection for Precious Document

I do genealogy research and have lots of binders full of family group sheets; census records; birth, death and marriage records; and family photos. These are precious documents that would be a shame to lose or allow to deteriorate. The easy open box allows me to grab one at a time to insert my papers and stick them in the binder. Easy use and archival quality make it easy to preserve my family history. I love these sheet protectors.

Quality isn't there anymore.

On a whim I tried Staples sheet protectors and was pleasantly surprised that they were of the same see through quality as the higher priced brands so I switched. I have been using Staples sheet protectors for a very long time and was very pleased with the quality of high gloss/clear presentation they used to have. But now the protectors are hazy, they seem to have almost a film on them and are not as see through or clear as they once were. I hope they switch back to the quality they once had or I will be going back to the other brands.

We had to trim most of our papers to get them the fit in the protectors, some were okay but most of them were to small for a standard sheet of paper.

These are probably okay for home use, if you don't care about appearance. I needed them for work, and I was embarrassed to have to use them: the holes were in different places (within boxes and among different boxes), so the pages did not align properly, and the binder(s) full of them looked very sloppy.

I ended up using quite a number of sheet protectors. I forgot to use the coupons that came with my prior purchase for my next purchase. Also, I think they were quite expensive. I understand making 200 individuals sheets of these sheet protectors takes more than putting copy paper together. I marked above that I am value oriented, but I won't buy anything that isn't the quality I want.
