They last a long time.
I bought my first one in 1972 for use with X-ACTO blades. It's been through a lot in 52 years !
I just bought my second one only because I want a spare in the other room.

Same ‘Ol Perfect Exacto
When I looked for a new Exacto Knife I was so pleased to see that the design had stayed the same after decades of being on the market.
Don’t mess with perfection!
