Overheats fast
It seem to overheat after shredding more than 20 sheets continually. Not happy that I have to stop and start to shred a pile of papers.

After 10 minutes, it will automatically go to a cool off mode and require 45 minutes to rest. It sounds like your unit is shutting down prematurely so please call customer service to troubleshoot the unit and be by the shredder when you call. This shredder was a very disappointing purchase. It’s very loud when shredding information. I paid almost 170.00 and it’s not worth that kind of expenditure.
When I tried to register the shredder the last section ask you to check the box if you are not a robot. It wouldn’t clear so I tried to enter the data three times and was never able to submit my registration....

The reviews said that Fellowes and TruRed both had the best ratings of shredders, and the local Staples had both available. The Fellowes shredder looked sturdier and the price was right. It doesn't shred old DVD's/CD's. And the crosscut is way too long. Makes a huge mess emptying it.

We are sorry to hear you are not pleased with the cut size this unit provides (5/32" x 1-9/16"). There are various units on the market which do offer an even more secure cut, so we recommend a micro-cut shredder if this is more suitable to your needs. Lastly, shredders will create a bit of a mess from time to time (this cannot be completely prevented) but oiling the blades every time the basket is emptied will help. In 2017, I purchased a Staples shredder. It was so well made. Made with metal and heavy-duty plastic and probably weighed about 25 pounds or so. Worked fabulously. Bogs down when more than 6 sheets. Says it can handle 15. Ut have my doubts. Never tried more than 6 sheets. No need to burn up new shredder.
