Do NOT bother!
I bought two of these because my older models no longer worked with Windows 11 and Dymo will not release any updates to make them work. When they arrived the power cord on one did not even work and when I got the second hooked up I discovered that these printers WILL NOT print on anything other than Dymo labels. Forces you to buy their OVER PRICED labels
Dymo use to be great, and I have had several Dymo printers over the years, but no longer. With the new printers they force you to use only labels that are made by them at an outrageous price, instead of being able to buy 3rd party labels that worked for dymo printers. Not as advertised
It said that it was compatible with Stamps.com. It is not! Spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get it to print properly using Stamps.com and it did not work. Ended up returning and purchasing a different brand printer.

Warning to all buyers... DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. all new printers from dymo now come with a chip glued on the inside of the label roll and can not use any of your old labels. I've been using the 4XL printers for years and now they broke down and we have many old label rolls we can not use... they want toy to buy their labels for 10 times the price... Im returning this...

Usually, Dymo is a good brand so I thought the 5XL would be a smart purchase. A small roll of Dymo labels came in the box. This thermal printer only takes Dymo labels. Awful
Never buy one of these. Giving me the biggest headache with how many issues I’m having. I never give reviews but this one deserves a negative star. Whatever u do, don’t buy a dymo label printer 5XL. Returning immediately. If they even let me. Very upset with this.

It's okay
Changing out labels is a pain. It's never a flawless transition and gets very frustrating. The power cable has no grip and falls out if you adjust the printer on your desk every so slightly. Almost like its just a hair too small for the hole. While I like that it prints small or larger packing labels I'm not sure that I would buy a Dymo again after this.

Only uses dymo branded paper
Wouldn’t have ordered this if it was clear the printer only uses expensive label paper not normal brands

Works well
The printer works well. It is a little hard to feed a new roll of labels into the slot. But you just need to try a few times. The feeder will grab the labels eventually.

HORRIBLE
I WOULDNT BUY ANOTHER ONE OF THESE IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT! Doesn't work with Avery rolls that are compatible and IT DOESN'T WORK WITH ITS OWN ROLLS!!!!

Do NOT Buy The 5XL
This is the first Dymo printer I have ever bought and it is a piece of junk, I have only bought the Dymo brand labels for it since it will only let you use the Dymo brand and more than half the time it will not even recognize the Dymo brand labels, I have to constantly reset the label writer every few labels to print.

These are the best label printers for postage. Makes life way easier.
I have the 4xl from 2015, if finally died and got this. Works just like the old version, quick and easy to use.

Really would like to try again .

Outdated Equipment
Dymo Label has been offering the same printers for over 10 years now and still have not come up with a way to go wireless????? Also being a hostage to purchasing their labels is ridiculous because they are triple the price of other brands. They should be ashamed of their business practice and the fact that their equipment has never improved from it's original version.

Does not accept any third party labels
Verify that your desired label can be purchased directly from Dymo before buying this printer. They offer no cryogenic labels at this time and the software no longer accepts certain custom templates.
