Drawing board
This product is quite handy to use on virtually any flat surface. However it’s one downfall is the fact that the legs tend to fold in rather easily causing one side or the other to collapse unexpectedly.

Drafting board
The board was warped so back I couldn’t use it and had to take it back. I found a better one online for 1/2 the cost that was much better.

Absolute Garbage - Use Plywood Instead
This thing broke while taking it out of the box and removing the plastic. The straight edge is held together by tiny plastic clips on the back that easily snap. It would be cheaper and last 1000x longer to cut your own plywood to size and make your own straight edge guide with a square. Incredibly disappointing.

Warped & unusable
The board is made of plastic. Right out of the box, it was warped & unusable for any type of drawing. Now I have to return it. Not good.

Drafting board
Mechanics of this has been around for quite a while, and implemented nicely. Although in this case the board is too lite for the pressures needed to operate it smoothly. Also noted, it is a veneer with a metal surface which was dented Allowing my triangle to slip under the horizontal guide. Maybe a heavier, solid surface would do. Does not live up to the name Staedtler.

Garbage
Your desk and a ruler are a better option. Most of the parts are cheap plastic and very flimsy. The parallel bar was bowed and would catch the paper, it also had such a large chamfer on the drawing edge it was hard to make a line in the same place twice. I returned this immediately, might be worth it if it was $15.

Of course the more expensive ones work smoother but it did the job then folds flat out of the way

Better than nothing
The board is slightly smaller than the paper sold so it must be trimmed before using. The straight edge isn’t rigid enough to guarantee it doesn’t move.

Warped
The drawing surface rolled gently over hill and valley. My triangle kept falling through the space under the parallel bar. I don’t know whether it was warped from a manufacturing defect, a transport and storage problem or the result of exposure to extreme temperatures. Lightweight, whole table moves when I draw. It should grip the surface you place it on. Also the pulley system for parallel drawing guide doesn’t glide smoothly enough.

Used Condition
Mine arrive with significant wear and tear. There are scratches and some gray areas with fingerprints on. Very disappointed with such high price I'm getting a used drawing board.

Hardware doesn’t create professional stability. Wire hold down interfered with sliding bar. Had to remove to make it work.

I was very disappointed in the quality of this product. It would not sit level on my table, and
the board was warped. I returned it the next day. Fortunately, there are good quality boards from other sources, and I was able to find one that works really well.
I definitely would not recommend this product.

Edging falling off
Out of the box the vinyl edging is falling off the board. Big deal because the straight edge rides on those edges and relies on them being smooth for reliable movement.
