Great little adapter
Considering my new laptop didn't have the port necessary to use it. This was just what I needed to do it.

didn't work, caused crashes
I got this because it was immediately available, rather than waiting for a "real" splitter. It ended up wasting more time. It installed easily, but sent no signal out, and as long as it was connected, my computer "blue-screened" every 40 seconds or so. Once I disconnected, my machine was fine.

Questionable
I purchased this unit because I had a very important video job interview and I wanted the best chance at a good interview. It kept glitching and 20 minutes in the thing totally lost the connection. I should have just stuck with the straight up Wi-Fi connection.

USB 3.0 to rj45 Ethernet cable adapter for network/internet
Works perfect! Never needed one for my wife’s 5 yr old Dell laptop until the WiFi card went out. Up to 1Gbs speed. Ended up getting the WiFi card replaced. I even tried it on my old Samsung book notebook laptop and it functioned perfectly for it also. Very handy to get the most speed to your thin laptop computers as a rj45 is too big to put in them.
