I have been using this brand for several years, my cases are starting to wear out so I purchased this thinking it would be the same. It is not.
The flow is not smooth or consistent, frequently cutting out. These are not at all the same EnerGel as the pens in the metal case.

Pentel EnerGel-X Retractable Roller Gel Pens
I purchased these pens for our department. One of members had acquired one of these pens and several other members had tried it and wanted their own. Everyone is very happy with the ease of the gel ink and the comfort of the cushioned grip. Overall it's a very useful writing instrument.

Pentel Roller Gel pens
One of the best pens I've written with. The fact that the gel in the pen dries instantly is so significant because I use them at wrk and when you need something signed quick you don't want smudges on it. Love these pens!!!
