Swingline Optima Compact Stapler
I like using this compact stapler, it's convenient to have sitting upright on my desk without taking a lot of room and incredibly comfortable in my hands when using it. It is sturdy. I haven't had any problems with the staples jamming. It gives very clean stapling on the pages.

Huge disappointment!
I purchased one of these in black 5 or 6 years ago and it was the best stapler I ever had! It never jammed and seemed like it would staple through a book if I needed it to! When it finally wore out, I went straight for another one, but tried the silver instead. It was a huge disappointment, jamming constantly, even on 2-sheet "stacks." I've been deceived. Now they're wasting my time!

Swingline can't be beat
Bought an off brand 6 months ago or so and just got around to using it last week. It jammed every other staple. No matter what I did, could not fix. Even with pliers. Just through it in the trash and got the Swingline. No problems, smooth, quiet and dependable.

Solid, reliable performer in a small package
Could just as easily give it five stars. I bought a small stapler to carry in my briefcase a few years ago and it was so weak as to discourage me from the concept. Finally, I decided to spend a few more bucks and get what appeared to be a much more solid tool. I was right. Compact, solid and sturdy. It performs quickly, easily and reliably.

One Star BECAUSE
The description says that it uses "1/4" premium staples" but that is a lie. When we got the stapler, we put the staples into it but it didn't close. Looking at the box further, it says uses "S.F. 3 Premium Staples." I ordered item # 757819 in hopes that this will fix the problem.
