Nice fit
If you have a "U" shape desk configuration with a 48", it's a perfect fit with a 1/2 to spare. I haven't noticed any slipping on a composite wood floor in my basement home office.

Expensive, but definitely worth it...
I have hardwood floors in my office, and after upgrading my desk chair from a basic desk chair to a more high-end, executive desk chair (much larger and heavier), I noticed the weight of my new chair began to cause the wood floor at my desk to wear rather rapidly.
