10-sheet cross-cut shredder
Advertised and displayed as a cross-cut shredder and that was the reason I purchased it. Only does straight shredding and not cross-cut shredding. Bad display and advertising by Staples.

So far, very good
It’s a little loud, but it works well! I like the larger basket and how it shreds
Crosscut. The basket is easy to empty. I also like the key that locks the shredder. I also purchased the lubricant sheets to see if this keeps the shredder healthy and doesn’t burn out or stop working. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I do not recommend
When I plugged in my unit, after I received it, It would not turn on. I tried a couple of outlets just in case one was broken, but to no avail. I will be returning this item.

Little loud by adequate
Machine is much smaller than our old Fellows shredder. It's loud but does the job of regular household shredding.

Works well
I had a lot shredding to do and a lot were 3-4 pages stapled together. The machine was much louder when I did 6 pages so I just did one stapled packet at a time. I probably used it for 1 1/2 hours and no problems with overheating.

I had this model BXC-102A Staples shredder for several years. Finally it got worn out from trying to shred 4 pages at a time, too many times. There is one plastic gear wheel among the other steel gears, and the plastic one got stripped down flat. I tried to replace that one helical gear but it can’t be found anywhere.
