C Channel Label Holders
These are exactly what I needed for a metal hanging organizing folder. They stick onto the folder. Instead of hand writing, I used a label maker (better than my messy handwriting!). They fit the bill.

Overpriced Magnets
They stick to metal well, however, I had a hard time sliding in the tag and I think they are well over priced.

Staples 1 x 3 C Channel Card Holder, White/Black (LH191).
These are excellent for us to track our personnel in various areas. They are magnetic and we use on the white board.
