We've ordered a few of these and never had any problems. This one will not power on so we are returning it.

Perfect replacement and exactly what I expected.

Not environmentally friendly
I like the price but the battery is not replaceable. That means at the end of its' life cycle I have to send it in for "recycling" which usually means "somebody else will throw it out for you".

Failed completely after only a year.
I purchased this unit specifically to keep the internet modem & router powered on during brief power outages (common in my area). Not only does this unit not provide any backup whatsoever now, it also randomly starts "beeping" at times and the only way to stop it is to unplug it completely from the wall (which kills everything since the backup no longer works). Thank you for taking the time to review our BE425M UPS. I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed that the UPS does not have an user replaceable battery in it. We moved to that option because usually it is more cost effect to replace the entire unit instead of just the internal battery. Also with a new UPS you would get a 3 year manufacturer warranty but with replacing just the internal battery you would only get a 2 year manufacturer warranty on the internal battery.

Not sure how it can be considered "green" if one cannot replace the battery.

Did Not Last, Do Not Recommend
In the 4 months that I've been using this new product, it has started beeping once a month; the beeping cannot be muted. I have to turn it off, and thus my server gets shut down. It works for another month or so before the beeping starts again, Super Annoying!

I would check is making sure that the battery connection is secure on the bottom of the UPS. If the beeping is a constant tone there is also a chance that the UPS is becoming overloaded. If this the case the UPS is becoming overloaded because the server is pulling more power than the UPS can support. If neither of these are the case I recommend reaching out to an APCbySchneider support team for further assistance. We would be happy to assist you in resolving any issues with the unit. Excellent until the battery dies.
This had about a 5 year useful life - which is excellent. But without a replaceable battery, it becomes a boat anchor. APC said there was no way to bypass the battery alarm and use it strictly as a surge protector. Demands proper recycling. Buy a model that supports replacement batteries.

Didn't even last a year
I keep getting sporadic faults of a constant tone and a blinking (alternating green/red) light. The manual says that means the battery needs to be replaced. I haven't even had this a year and it only has a TV plugged into it.

Battery is not user replaceable
I owned a few APC UPS backups and was always able to replace the batteries myself. You can't do that with this model. I regret that I missed this important point. I did register it right away and hopefully if the battery dies prematurely, I'll Geta replacement by sending it out for repair.

As someone who does research before purchasing items like this I am thrilled with both the capability of this product and the price. We intend to purchase more to protect all of the electronic devices that we use in the company and even our employees are excited by the idea and want to purchase them for their homes.
