Customize the Windows 8 Start Screen

Changing the Windows 8 Start screen background is just as easy as changing a desktop background in Windows 7. All you have to do is press the Windows button + I, and then click on “More PC Settings”.

In the More PC Settings box, Click the Personalize button. From here, you can browse for new images for the Start screen, your account picture and your lock-screen image. You can even set the lock screen to display information from apps running in the background, presuming the app supports lock-screen notifications.
