Comments about Scotch 3M� H-180 Carton Sealing Tape Dispenser, 2":

If you're familiar with tape guns, you'll know about the metal piece that keeps the tape pressed against the roller. For the less expensive guns, this piece doesn't move, and it can be a real pain to fit the tape through there. Additional issues are that the tape can get pulled back through that metal holder and have to be refit again (very annoying); also, the tape can stick quite strongly to the metal piece, making it very difficult to pull through.

This gun solves those problems with an adjustable spring loaded metal holding piece - you can lower it when fitting the tape through to the roller, and the spring action seems to help keep the tape from slipping back through. I also didn't have problems with tape sticking to the metal piece.

After 5 months of daily use, I notice the blade is starting to wear, not always cutting the tape (just scraping it as a whole bunch extra gets pulled out). You can order replacement parts using phone numbers listed on the product, haven't tried that yet.

Given the high price ($100 + for the 3" verison?!) it may not be worth it to you. For me, who ships packages every day, it was a sound investment.
