The timer we ordered was returned because it was defective. The replacement was also defective. The third time was a charm. We're holding our breath that this one will hold up.

      This product is described by its maker as having just two modes -- count down and count up -- but an online photograph of it shows the top readout displaying "clock pm" over a conventional clock time reading, so yes, it appears to be usable as a normal clock even while doing double duty as a timer.
