We purchased this cooler for use in our office. It is nice-looking, and keeps the water colder than the cooler we had previously. We have been very happy with it. The only downsides are that the dispenser is just a little lower than we might prefer, and there is no attachment available to make it possible to use the pull-tab bottle top (so that you don't have to remove the entire bottle top, and risk pouring the water out before you're ready).

When I went to put together the water cooler it was missing many parts from the check list that came with it. Also the instructions listed parts that were not part of the unit. I called Avanti and they said "oh dont worry about that stuff" The water had a strong taste of burnt plastic. I called them and they sent me instructions for a long complicated & time consuming process of cleaning it with bleach and baking soda and flushing it out. After all that it still had the bad taste. There costomer service sucks. When it came to reterning it to them I would get a different story every time I called. Then after many times calling they agreed to take it back but wanted me to pay them $10 RIDICULIS!

THIS IS JUNK!!! We bought this in March '09 and it stopped cooling after a few weeks and to add to that, there was a weird taste. I had to go through the manufacturer and they said they can only do an exchange. And they did not pick up the defective cooler, we had to dispose of it ourselves. After doing the strange stuff they asked (like cutting 5" off the power cord) and mailing a "processing" fee, we got another one, AND IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!!! This time it stopped cooling after 2 days AND the weird taste was back and it tasted worse!!! So our non-profit is out all this money. We're going back to our water supplier's rental cooler because that worked fabulous. I implore you, DO NOT BUY THIS WATER "COOLER"!!!

The product stopped cooling water after 1 month. A call to Avanti told us they do not service this unit because it is too small. We have to remove the unit number, cut the cord & send everything to them with a check for $10. Then they will send us another unit that they can't guarantee will work for more than a month.

It does not keep water cold enough. It makes a loud noise every 10-15 minutes which is disturbing to us and our dog.

It is a nice looking unit, but had I realized it does not work with spill-proof bottles, I probably would have bought something else. Changing water bottles on this unit can be a challenge. As long as your bottles are clean and can form a seal (not irregular shaped) then you should not have any problems. It just isn't as nice as the spill-proof systems.

After a couple months of using this unit, water began leaking from the inside. I never investigated to find out where the leak originated, but Avanti switched out the unit for a $10 processing fee. The new unit seems to be working fine.
