I like this specific type of pen because it writes well with no skipping, and is not an over-sized pen, which is important when I am writing a lot of notes for college, and I have to write quickly. This means the pen's size is not cumbersome and does not get in the way of my writing. However, the ink does not glide completely smoothly over the paper, and it is not the best at writing fast. Speed is very important to me. The rubber grip is very comfortable, which is especially important when I have to write a lot of notes; my fingers don't hurt. I also like the clip that you use to hang the pen on a shirt or hook onto a paper on which I write, so the pen does not roll onto the floor.

hard to unclick pen, ink too light

I want an inexpensive pen that doesn't explode in my pocket, permanently staining my nursing scrubs; that glides smoothly; easily applies a dark ink; that is retractable. These kinds of pens used to exist, until the 21st century. The exploding pen is the most frustrating! Though that has not happened yet with this pen, it has with virtually all others. I don't understand it. I can't use a gel pen because I need to write on paper that makes copies. Any recommendations?

I don't know if these Reviewers actually bought THESE pens. If you grip the pen at the larger soft spot, the pen bottom slowly, over time, moves downward. At that point, the pen tip disappears, and you constantly have to hold the grip point and push the pen top back down, which pushes the pen back together. Even the Manager at my local Staples agreed with my observations when i presented the pens to him and showed him what they do.
