It is the factories own cartridge so it works as advertised.

My complaint about all ink jet printers, is that even though you are printing in mostly black and white, they still consume a bit of all of the various color inks and will cease to function as soon as any of the colors gets low.

Whenever the printer decides that one color cartridge is empty, it shuts down, even though there may be one eighth to one quarter of an inch of ink still remaining in the bottom of the cartridge.

Some of the older printers could be outsmarted by removing and replacing the same cartridge, but the newer printers won't allow it.

It's all a scheme by the manufactures to sell a lot of high priced ink cartridges.

Good printer/wish ink was better

The ink and the printer are, themselves pretty darned good. But the cartridge design is frustrating. The printer locks out if even one cartridge is "low." And the cartridges themselves are designed to waste 25-30% of the ink inside them. For as much as the ink costs, grrrr! And you can't buy recycled or refill yourself.
