Ink cartridges are a rip-off

I'm not blaming Staples, but the cost of inkjet printer cartridges is a ripoff. We're all being gouged, and there is nothing we can do about it. The printer manufacturers sell us the printers themselves very cheaply, because they know they will make most of their money by selling us expensive cartridges. I can't imagine it costs Canon anywhere close to $25 to fill up a little container with ink. Yes, I understand that the technology is incredible and we have to pay for those costs, but look at, say, the technology involved in producing a 4GB USB flash drive that you can buy for $5.
