I happen to use this ink both in its normal capacity (to print things) and also to throw across my living room. I only use Canon ink, Canon printers, and Canon cameras, so I don't really have a complaint, but it's smarter not to throw your empty ink cartridges across your living room. Or throw at all, unless you're making "art." The pricing is high, in the sense that it sets you back a fair amount but you ideally want to keep spares on hand so that you don't suddenly run out for a school project, business documents, or ink throwing party.

      I am a huge fan of separate color cartridges (hate the HP that makes you dump perfectly good color ink just because 1 color runs out.). These colors are good quality and seem to dry quickly. My wife prints out recipes and knitting patterns, so she uses color a lot. I've atually taken to buying the 3-packs and just switching them out as she runs them out. I could never afford her addictions with a single cartridge system. Although they seem to last OK, I do wish they were a little bigger; it seems like I'm always putting a new one in.

          The cartridge lasts me several months.
          I print mostly photos of varying sizes,and occasionally color documents.
          My main interest is in accurate colors for printing photos.

          There is really no way to tell without knowing what type of documents or photos you are printing. Obviously if you're printing photos of bananas and lemons it won't last as long as when you are printing something without so much yellow. The content of the documents influences how long a cartridge will last.
