Q: Is there another none National Brand of Ink that I can use in my Cannon Printer that uses Pixma ip1700? Asked on 10/10/2009 by Nissy from Salisbury, Maryland Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: There is circuitry on each new, unused Canon cartridge which works with the window showing how much ink is left in the cartridge. Refilled Canon cartridges or generic cartridges will not provide this information. That's the only thing I don't like about my Canon printer. Other than that, it prints excellent color documents and perfect photos. Answered on 1/19/2010 by Singlemartin from Mesa, AZ
