I am getting my masters degree online and need to print off a lot of documents to take with me to read at work where I have limited computer access so I use my printer a lot. The quality of the print and ease of both installation and usage are outstanding. My only complaint is the cartridges empty out too quickly. When my new semester started and I had to print out my syllabi and opening documents I used a cartridge up in one night. I'm sorry, most of this comment applies to the black ink cartridge, I don't use color as much so it doesn't run out as quickly for me but all or the comments do apply equally. Both are excellent products who run out too quickly for my needs.

I bought a new Dell all-in-one printer to replace my old one that broke. I was happy to hear I could run down to Staples to buy ink replacements, especially when I also got Rewards for returning the old cartridge. However I wasn't thrilled with the high price, & was extremely disappointed with how fast the ink needed replaced again. I do a fair amount of printing coupons, but nothing huge. It's only been a month, & I need to buy another replacement for my black ink. The color one is already at 60% at about half a month. My old Dell lasted far longer!! I replaced maybe twice a year! Very disappointing!

Is there anything I can buy as a substitute? The price has gone up like $5.00.
Can I refill them w/good quality ink? Will it harm my printer? They say they're long lasting but not by me; I even try to print in all black ink. Also w/my printer if the color ink is empty it won't print anything! Even if you just want to print in black ink!
