Not really sure about the color cartridge life. I have replaced the black cartridge 2 times since I bought the printer. I bought the printer in september when school started. This printer was reasonably priced and perfect for my families needs. My high school kids needed it mostly for their schoolwork. They usually print in black and white. The color cartridges I have replaced so far have been the magenta and the cyan. The yellow will need to be replaced next. Also, the ones I replaced were the ones that came with the printer and were not full size. I am looking forward to not having to replace these anytime soon!

Not really sure about the color cartridge life. I have replaced the black cartridge 2 times since I bought the printer. I bought the printer in september when school started.
