The stupid sales person convinced me that I needed this printer. Epson RX580. Folks, Epson sucks. Thank God I didnt get rid of my HP. That old HP will smoke the Epson 9 ways to Sunday, both in speed and quality. Plus, Epson leads you to believe that you replace only the cartridges you need. Guess what, they all run out at the same time, and if you try to replace one, while the others are too low to function, the machine wont work until you replace it. I spent almost as much as the printer cost to replace those ink cartridges. RIP OFF!!
The inks are fine. However I have found that Epson's inks are way too expensive. If I could find another printer that prints DVDs and CDs I would make the switch immediatley

Staples needs to carry the high capacity cartridge for these printers. It is code 77 instead of code 78. I run out of cyan much more quickly than the other colors and replace it 2 times as often.
I chose this printer primarily for CD/DVD's. With the Taiyo Yuden Water Shield White Inkjet CD/DVD's I get photo quality that is washable. Great for children. With the Kodak Ultra Premium Photo Paper I also get high quality prints that dry instantly and don't smudge. The prints also survived water dripped on the surface and wiped off. Don't try that with plain paper, it will run.
