I've used this as a book holder through 2 years of law school and it's performed well with big, heavy books. It quickly sets up for in-class use, and folds up quickly for quick storage in a laptop case. Takes up very little space.I know it's only supposed to be used for copy, but the thing is pretty well made. Try it before springing for that $80 steel book holder.

All this really needs is something to keep track of your place. I deal with large spreadsheets & it would help a great deal to have a straight-edge place holder.

I work on several projects at a time at work and I like to have them all in one place. This copy holder holds a lot of paper (I don't really use it for books, but I'm sure it would work well with them). It's very sturdy and I don't worry about it collapsing. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I use this to hold thick law school books. Works perfectly but it is plastic. I worry that a heavy book might break it so I'm very careful placing and removing books. So far, so good.

  I believe 515621 is a Staples knock-off but is identical in almost every aspect, except that some reviewers have complained about it's poor quality. The Fellowes stand is the one I use and is grey plastic, maybe a little less stylish-looking than the black Staples one.
