The con part is it cant be refilled by some stores. Some stores refill cartridges cheaper but not this kind of cartridge.

I use the cartridges for publications to be printed by a commercial printer. Currently, I just finished a classical symphonic 2cd with libretto and cd case outside and inside inlay for the producer which will be printed in Milan, Italy.

The quality is excellent, but the 02 cartridges do not last AT ALL! I tried printing in only black, but it doesn't matter all the other colors are depleted in less than a week's time and I in "no way" print 240 printouts. This is a farce! I have spent close to $1,000 on ink to print out this project. I no sooner put the cartridge in, print with black only until I need to print out the final and I am already getting an empty warning and with a few more printouts, I am buying all the colors (inclusive of black) all over again. Look at my ink cartridge rewards card for evidence.

An unsatisfied customer which is not staples fault, but that of hp and the 02 product. I firmly believe that they designed it to make one spend money at a fast clip.

This "con" comment applies to all of the 02 hp cartidges!

                  Why does my yellow ink say it is empty when I only print in black and white? The black ink does not say it is empty.

                    A:

                    I have owned three printers which use the HP 02 cartridges for several years, and have similar experience. It appears that small amounts of the ink in a color cartridge are used when the printer goes through it initialization and self cleaning processes from time to time. Eventually you will probably need to replace each of the color cartridges, one-by-one. If you occasionally print in color, I have read that yellow is generally the most heavily used color. This might explain why it was the first to become empty.
