While it is great to have an expiration date so that I know I am buying a fresh product, I found that my printer (HP INKJET 1100) will not print once the cartridge has expired - even if it is still full! So, when I was printing a lot of greeting cards I used the ink fast enough, but I have not done much printing this year and my cartridge expired while still almost 50% full.

h.p. has a bad habit of terrible suppoet and overpriced ink. They lure you in with competitive prices on their printers and then watch out. I have an old h.p.940c, which is a great printer, why do the cartridges cost [$].
