The HP 88 series refills are ink cartridges only. That is to say that instead of replacing the usual ink (w/ new print head), you are only buying a cartridge with ink. I've changed every color multiple times and haven't had to replace the user-replaceable print heads. Which means I'm getting a lot more pages/$. The other advantage of the HP 88 series cartridges are the ability to replace only the color you need. Unlike the tri-color cartridges, which require you to replace all three colors when you are likely only "out" of one color, you can replace the the color you need, saving you money on wasted ink. Great product...highly recommend any printer that utilizes the HP 88 cartridges.

It doesn't seem to last very long. the price is a little bit to high.. It should be cheaper for no more than what a person gets. But the printer that it goes in is an excellent printer. I really like the printer that I got but I just wish the ink was alot cheaper and more affordable for it. but while it last's it does seem to do a pretty decent job. The color ink cartridges are way too expensive as well. They should be a lot lower cost.. I do however believe that if this is it was a lot cheaper that you would be able to sell lots more of it.. If you could get it at a lower cost and still have the same amount of ink in it..
