My primary reason for the purchase of this product was for my computer business. I run my computer business from my home, and the room I work in becomes very dusty along with a musty smell from the various computers I work on. First, all other reviews are true about the intermittent crackling sound and buzzing. This is common if the 3 blades and ionizing wire are not cleaned. These sounds are so minor and are not loud. It is quiet and no fans. Second, I do really like the Ozone smell it delivers but in order to smell that your nose has to be right next to this air purifier, literally nose touching the front vents. I had tried closing off my room by closing the door but no effect and sneezing from the computer dust was the same. I am still sneezing from the computer dust and have been using this product for a week. I have 14 days to return it and today is the day it's going back to the store. I don't have any allergies or breathing problems but thought I'd try this to help reduce excessive dust and musty smell from various computers. The room I work in is an average size bedroom (this would differ if you have a multi-million dollar house...not me). Third, I am debating whether I should try the Honeywell 50250n, which has great reviews. The only disadvantage is replacing filters. People are complaining about how loud the unit is. Get over it! Anything pushing air, such as an oscillating fan will create noise. Again, not sure if I'm going through another joke purchasing an air purifier. If the Ionic Pro really worked, then hospitals would have them installed in all the patient's rooms, right? Again, it's a joke! The Sharper Image Ionic Breeze and this unit have the same guts installed from the reviews I read with some slight cosmetic differences. Both still perform the same job and is a joke. If you want clean air: 1) Vacuum more, 2) Dust more, 3) Open a window, 4) Spray some disinfectant lysol, 5) Plug in your favorite scented air freshener. 6) Light a scented candle. So much cheaper! Finally, save your $$$$...seriously!

I've bought this for [$], and it was a great purchase! I just put it in my room and i could actually smell the fresh-air!! (although at first i felt like i was at the hospital or something..) Great Value, works great. no need to change filters. Just need to wash the blades about once a week. if you want to breathe fresh air, this is the way to go.

I bought this for a small room. It doesn't seem to do anything, but I liked the car purifier... it works OK. I would suggest buying the larger one, and hopefully it would do a better job.
