Do not buy lexmark COLORED ink!

I printed one thing in pink of about 5 words (size 25) and then tried printing again later, and all the pink/red tones were coming out streaked. I thought it may have been because I hadnt used it in a couple months so tried to print again, and it wasnt as sreaked but by this point it was barely even peach colored. That is rediculous if i am spending $20-30 on an ink i expect it to work more than once. Also after this I printed a 2"x2" picture with some blue and it completely ran out of blue - this is also pathetic. I will NEVER buy lexmark again! I suggest buying hp as I know a number of people very happy with that. I do not have problems with black ink but I cannot keep a printer just for black ink, I also need to print color.

I am using the Lex 27 with the Lex 17 on a Lexmark Z515. Have come to the realization that I am paying more for the replacement cartridges than I paid for the printer ! The only way I can justify the cost is with Staples' ( return used cartridges policy ) and their sometimes infrequent sales on the Lexmark products. The printer is ok for everyday use and the inks do make documents presentable. As for color photographs, I may use it for a sample picture or quick copy but I would rather use my HP3200 with good photo paper for a presentation photo. I'll continue to use the Lexmark as long as Staples gives me credit for the empty cartridges and has a sale on printer ink.

you have to order this on-line now. they don't carry the single color in the store, only with the black ink as a package. it's an older printer, so i guess it doesn't justify carrying it. it didn't take long to receive and it came to the store for me.
