    This is a flexible and portable unit that provides acceptable background sound in many settings (PC speaker, Portable device/player hookup in Hotel room, at poolside, on camping/boating trip, etc. If application requires cables not included, standard cables are widely available). The manual is clear and concise. BlueTooth Unit works with and without wires, with and without AC, Batteries can be replaced if they're needed out in the boonies (you're SOL with rechargables!). The sound quality should be adjusted to taste at the source (DROID-4's mixer for me). If you require volume that overwhelms conversation or shakes the rafters, this is not for you, and be prepared to spend more and carry more (no loonger "portable"!)

    I bought if for my brother as a gift. If you go to a different room it has trouble connecting and skips the audio. Its a press of a button to set up though

        ...PRODUCT SUPPORT. To my surprise, I recently discovered the battery cover on the bottom of the speaker was missing. Since the batteries are FIRMLY held in place, when/how the cover disappeared is still a mystery. Here's what happened when I called Customer Support to request a replacement: 1-the rep was from the USA (!!!). 2-she was courteous, competent and able to order a WARRANTY REPLACEMENT quickly. Made my day and I told her so!

          I have been wanting to be able to listen to my Iphone music in my bedroom, but didn't want to pay the high amount for a Ipod type docking station. This product is perfect, and the bluetooth capability makes it very easy.

          I usually have problems with technical gadgets...this one was a piece of cake to set up, listen and enjoy!

                  It's impossible to tell without knowing what HP Laptop model you have, but if your laptop supports Bluetooth, this speaker will work with that. If your laptop does not support Bluetooth, you can still using by running a cable between your headphone jack on the laptop and the line-in jack on the speaker, but you will not be able to use the speaker wireless.
