For use in the Courtroom. Good for exhibits, I would not use with wipe boards or writing tablets for fear it would move or topple.

will this easel hold a 55"height x 45"width foamcore sign (expect sign will only weigh about 8lbs max.)? really want to know it will be able to support height/width.

  The Quartet® Black Aluminum Lightweight Telescoping Display Easels has telescoping legs which adjusts to 66" and it supports up to 25 pounds, so you should not have a problem.
