Comments about Scotch® Tartan Packaging Tape Dispenser:
The tape totally sticks to the metal making this product useless. You spend more time fighting with the tape than actually DISPENSING with it! The more expensive products are probably totally worth the money saved by not wasting so much tape! Grrr...
Comments about Scotch® Tartan Packaging Tape Dispenser:
I did not like this item. EVERY time I used this it got caught on the metal piece that holds the tape in place. I had to fight with it, and by this point there was such a large waste of tape.

Q:
I am trying to thread my 3" hand tape dispenser so that it will work properly as I have seen them work in a shipping department. I have tried every way to thread the tape to gain a smooth operation. I am having no success. Why doesn't this product come with directions?

You would need to thread the tape, sticky side down, through the metal catch and up to the cutter.

A:
Put the roll on the core so that when you pull the tape out the sticky side is facing down. Pull the tape out and thread it between the metal tape guide and the roller. Pull it up to the cutting edge and cut off the excess tape. You may then adjust the tension of the tape dispenser by turning the grey knob with the screw in the center of the core. Turn clockwise to tighten and counter clockwise to loosen the tension. Too much tension will make it harder to pull and roll out. Not enough tension will make it roll to fast and sloppy. I hope this helps.
