These little babies are MULTIPURPOSE! Here's what I use them for:

* hanging keys on
* displaying Christmas cards
* displaying photos
* clipping outgoing mail to, near the front door
* posting my to-do list near my computer

They look great, have such a heavy duty magnet that they hold my huge keyring, and can go from chic to office-professional in a pinch!

I was satisfied with the quality of the metal clip but I was not satisfied with the quality or strength of the magnet itself. Holding one or two sheets of paper was possible, but any more than that and the clip began to slide down the surface it was supposed to be "stuck" to. If you are looking for a product that can hold more than one or two pieces of paper in place, I would recommend buying the square magnetic clips that run only about $1 more. I have used them in the past and they did not disappoint.

This product - the Staples® #1 Magnetic Bulldog Clips by Staples has multiple hanging abilities – purchased the product to hang a eight by eleven sign to a metal white board found the product was also able to hold another eight by eleven sign to a wooden door; making it a very useful, multi – purpose item for the office. This one product will work for multiple surfaces. The magnet holds strong on metal surfaces including a metal file cabinet and the metal on a white board. In addition to the magnet, the hole in the top of the Bulldog Clip makes it easy to hang a eight by eleven laminated sign from a Command™ Micro Hooks attached to a wooden door. This one product is all that is needed for multi hanging surfaces.
