At first I couldn't figure this out either, but then I realized it was too simple... You don't load the tape through anything as it appears. Simply put the tape on sticky side...Read complete review

At first I couldn't figure this out either, but then I realized it was too simple... You don't load the tape through anything as it appears. Simply put the tape on sticky side down. It runs under the roller. I have no problems using just one hand to do this. You just have to twist your hand a bit when you are ready to cut it. (rather than trying to go straight down, in which you use extra tape as someone else mentioned) Although, I had some of the earlier mentioned issues at first, once I figured it out, it's so easy. Hope that helps. I think the clear plastic piece just acts as a guard. Could do without it, but I'm sure it's requried for safety.

The one I purchased was not the one on the website. Mine was red. The pictured dispenser above is obviously blue. No one could figure out how to load it. The tape that came with it would cut about half way then just tear the rest of the way off. (flimsy) I cut myself twice trying to figure it out. I took it back two days later. Not your number one product.

It doesn't come with instructions which is bad but it makes you think which is good...or do some research, read the reviews. Slide the tape under the black roller piece sticky part down and that's it. Easy to use with one hand.

i found it very difficult to use, and end up using more tape than i really need. and really who wants to waste this expensive costly tape, the tape actually sticks to the metal latch. (the worse issue!) you have to baby it, roll tape back to not waste extra tape. the tension knob constantly loosens, it's also very heavy for a woman to handle, maybe i need alot more practice, lol. perhaps more practical for commerical larger businesses, but not for daily shipping labels
