Q: Can I use this item to copy files from a drive onto the cd? Some are in a tiff format and the others are in a SHP, PRJ formats. Please help Thanks Asked on 9/8/2011 by Trisa from Houston Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: The media will take any file type and will store up to 4.7 gb of information, minus some overhead for file structure. Please note that this is a DVD+r and will not work in a CD-RW drive so check your computer and make sure it is compatible before purchasing. Answered on 9/14/2011 by Anonymous from None A: Yes, you can use this item to create a data disc with your files. However, sometimes formats only work with certain programs. For example; .SHP files are a 3d Shaping file created with Autodesk and they most likely can only be opened with Autodesk. If you do burn items with several different formats, be sure that they are readable and can still open, with a different computer. Another thing, you should be able to export and/or save the file as a more common extension. Answered on 9/13/2011 by Kayla T. from Staples

Q: I want to burn a movie so which DVD should I use? The DVD+r/DVD-R/ DVDRW? Asked on 1/18/2010 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: Please, consult your DVD players manual for specific disc formats. However, most DVD players/recorders post 2006 can handle both formats. Answered on 1/31/2010 by Customer Care from Staples A: I would suggest that if you have time to spare, that you first try it on a RW to see if errors stop it and if it works. If it works with that disk you should be able to trust burning on a +R or -R disk without problems causing you to immediately lose another new disk. The RW can then be used again for something else or to do the same. I don't know it's limit, but it is at least more than 1 write. FYI Note: I have found NRTN RCYCL BIN able to resurrect Cyclic Redundancy Error deleted files that will run just fine. I have yet to fully check that one out, for whatever it is for you. Good Luck!
