This copy holder is a very simple product for someone who isn't interested in all the costly "frills". The "line guide" is a tinted transparency to make it easier to follow lines without moving it each time. It has foam squares on the bottom to keep it from moving around. Overall, great product. Very pleased with purchase.

I've tried to use this product to hold patient data sheets so that I may enter patients data into the computer. If the data sheets are not clipped in at the top, the pages slide off the holder at the bottom. Clipping the pages then involves two hands to turn through each. There is no lip at the bottom to prevent this from happening. Since this item is curved, it has a tendency to cast a shadow over the pages. I've had this holder for a year...to prevent further frustration, I ordered a Fellows model. Trash time.
Comments about Staples® Curved Desktop Copyholder:
I purchased this product because I run a transcription service from home. I am old school and do not look at the screen when I type and this stand makes it easier to transcribe handwritten documentation. I went to several Staples stores and was told they do not carry the typing stands. I am glad I decided to search online. It definitely makes my life easier.
Comments about Staples® Curved Desktop Copyholder:
Could not get the copy holder to hold my documents while I typed them into the computer. The bottom lip of the copy holder is made in such a way that the documents slid right off. There is a clip on top but when working with multiple pages it is a hassle to keep clipping and un clipping each page. My old one is flat on the bottom lip and can hold multiple pages. I was trying to update that holder but the only one that I found in the store was this one. It looks really nice. I was very disappointed that it did not work out. I ended up returning it to the store.
Comments about Staples® Curved Desktop Copyholder:
I am secretary for an organization and have to type from lots of notes. The curved desktop copy holder holds my notebook upright, so I can easily see what I need to type. It is sturdy enough to hold the notebook, but I can also use it to hold a single sheet of paper or two with the clip at the top. The backstand allows just enough slant to create a good visual position for typing. I have been looking for a document holder for quite some time, and so far this one meets all my needs at a very reasonable price.
No, it cannot be turned on its side as it would not be stable. Item 445849 Fellowes Flex Arm Copyholder can be adjusted at different angles and will rotate so that you can use it horizontally.

Q:
Is this stand plastic or metal? Will a magnet stick to it?
