I bought this for work (put labels on the side to organize). Even though I have a locking office, I didn't use as much as I'd like because I have too much confidential stuff to lock up everynight.
I did buy one for home also because I loved my work one. MY HOME OFFICE organizer gets USED ALL THE TIME-I love it!!!! I combine this with Staples exclusive 10 project folders. Everything is at my fingertips (bills, medical, insurance - I even use the folders to organize my middle schooler by class/period-YEAH!) Mine is stuffed to the brim with papers/organizers (thank goodness 2008 is almost over). It's next to the printer and the homework dining table - high volume use. BIG BUT VERY ORGANIZED/USEFUL!!! Better than those horizontal metal files(donate! donate!!) Now, if only they'd make all the pockets 2 deep (Ha! Ha!) plus 12.25 x 12.25 for us scrapbookers!

Each of my four children has one. They are a terrific tool for "a place for everything and everything in its place". At the end of the day the Desk Apprentice is full and the desk is clear. Because we have school in our home, the lack of visual clutter is essential.

I wish at least one side was metal so I could attach items like phone lists, reminders, etc. I currently tape things to it. I would love to use magnets instead.

This is the 2nd one I've gotten -- when I left my last job, my 1st got left behind and I just HAD to have a new one. One design suggestion for the next generation: Make at least 2 of the outside "pockets" accommodate folders in the normal landscape orientation (all 4 are designed to hold things "portrait" -- great for pads of paper, magazines, etc., but not great for folders as you can't see tabs). Besides, I don't think most people need all 4 pencil cups.

On the one side with just one higher compartment(opposite 2 compartment) a lower compartment for note pads would be VERY handy. I find the top removal storage container "in the way" so I have removed it and set it on my desk. Great to keep information organized.
