When I opened the package, I was disappointed because the folders seemed as if they wouldn't be able to handle the amount of papers I needed them for. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find each could hold aroung 100 papers.

The original version that I had purchased of this product was much better. Although it used a translucent clear plastic (cloudy), rather than the optimal transparent clear plastic, it did not have a seam at the bottom. This version has a visible seam, with stitching impression 1/4 inch on a folded piece of plastic running up the back side of the folder, rather than a seam at the very bottom of the page without a fold up, which allowed the client to view a double sided page design and content without the interruption of a seam running through the page. This plastic is also more cloudy than the prior product, making it harder to view the content it holds. I liked using it to present design work printed on an inkjet. It just provided that extra bit of protection and still allowed the high quality and resolution of an image type page design to show through and it could be passed around easily without collecting fingerprints. Clients also liked it.
Comments about Staples® Transparent Poly Pocket File, Letter, 5/Pack:
Easy to see through. Just wish I could purchase more than a 5-pack at a time. Would like to see larger quantities available, with discount for higher quantities.

Comments about Staples® Transparent Poly Pocket File, Letter, 5/Pack:
These clear file pockets/folders are great for protecting originals during transport, i.e. bank deposits, documents for filing or for signatures, etc. They are easy to use, the documents slip in and out easily, but don't fall out easily. Sticky notes used on the outside of the folder are great for providing instructions for contents, and when used directly on documents inside the folder are easily seen through the clear pocket. You'll need extra because everyone will want to keep it when you use it for a document delivered to them!

Description detail says they are open at the top only. The picture shows the 11" side as the "top."

These folders open on TWO sides. They are not really envelopes, but more of folders.

No! These are mis-named. They are not envelopes! They are pocket enclosures - angled. I just had to make special trip to return these because I ordered online based on Label since you cannot tell in photo that these are not envelopes.

Q:
Please tell me the dimension of Item 490948. Does the opening have any flap so that the papers will not fall out?
Slightly larger than 8.5 x 11. They do not have a flap to hold papers in.

They are a little larger than an 8.5 X 11 in sheet; can hold about 8-10 pages. They are clear; there is no flap, but papers have not fallen out in normal use in my experience. I keep a small sheaf of papers in each and can see the contents. I stack them on my desktop and vertically on a shelf. They are not 3-hole punched.
