I needed a good heavy duty stapler for my home office, but didn't want the expense or hassle of an electric. I was going to need the ability to occasionally print and staple very large documents, and with my ink-jet, I prefer to use the heavier 24-lb paper. I also bought the Swingline HD 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, and 1/2-inch staples.
This Swingline was "just what the doctor ordered". I recently had to download and print a 124-page document. I printed it two-side to save paper, but I still needed to staple 62 sheets of 24-lb paper. I easily swapped the 1/4-inch staples for 1/2-inch, lined up the document, and said "Here goes nothing!" This stapler quickly and SMOOTHLY stapled the document with no problem and just a light easy stroke. The 1/2-inch staple had enough length to fully secure the document and fold underneath the last page, and there was no sign of stress or bending of the staple itself.
I recommend this stapler to anyone who has to staple more than 10 sheets of paper at any time.

We have owned this stapler (or its predecessor that looks very similar) for about 5 months. At first, it worked like a charm. We use the Swingline heavy duty staples. After about two months, it began jamming about every third or fourth use. Now, it jams every time. Clear the jam, it skips, then jams again. We are hoping the model that is twice the price will work much better.
Make sure you use the proper staples with the stapler. I asked staples if you could use their brand and they said yes - it Jam. So use the swingline heavy duty.

Our office uses this stapler on a fairly regular weekly basis. We cannot staple small packages of papers or large packages of papers with this. It jams EVERY time and is then very difficult to clear the jam. Even after the jam is cleared, the stapler does not staple, just jams again. VERY dissapointed with the quality of this machine. Would not recommend for anything else but a paper weight.
I use the cheap staples and this stapler jams every time I use it, although the jam is easy to clear and the staple goes through. I am going to try using the swingline brand staples to see if this makes a difference.
The manufacturer claims it has capacity of up to 160 sheets. This stapler broke after a few uses (less than 100 sheets at a time). Do not buy this item if you need heavy duty stapling performance.
