Excellent light!

My 100-year-old dad is losing his eyesight. He can't see different foods he's eating. He can't differentiate mashed potatoes from chicken bones. This light worked perfectly. He puts it on the dining room table by him and it illuminates his food perfectly. He can see what he's putting on his fork. It saves him the embarrassment of having to have assistance to eat. He tried different lights and this one worked far better than the rest. He's very happy and so am I. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a bright, full-spectrum, quality-made light.

This inexpensive desk lamp did exactly what I needed for about 6 months. It shed alot of light without taking up alot of room, and it didn't get hot. However, the lamp recently died. It was NOT easy to find a replacement bulb, and when I did, the bulb was $12. I replaced it, and it worked for about another month. The whole thing is going in the garbage to be replaced with a lamp that uses bulbs that are more easily replaceable.

The switch is a positive toggle, and placed up where where it can be seen and easily reached. No more fumbling! Light is bright, even, clear, and restful. Lamp is unobtrusive, although looks very good if you want to see it. Unit is balanced and stable, easy to lift and move if you wish. Probably the best desk lamp I've found to date.

I needed a new lamp for my 86-year-old mom. I chose this lamp based on the review from BigBlueToe who wrote that it allows his/her 100-year-old dad to "differentiate mashed potatoes from chicken bones." Indeed! Mom proclaimed that she **loves** this lamp because she is again able to read her newspaper, something she has missed for a couple of years, now. She likes the height of the light because it provides illumination to her entire work area. It has become her go-to lighting source for everything. I like it because it does not get halogen-hot which reduces the risk of her getting burned or starting a fire. It is also easy for her to turn on with a simple click from her weakened hand. We have tried many lamps but none were as safe, as easy for her to turn on or allowed her to see as well as this lamp. As my eyes aren't what they used to be, either, I find that I am also crazy about this lamp. The two of us are able to sit at the same large table with this single lamp and have all of our tasks well illuminated. I, therefore, highly recommend the V-Light for all ages.
