I bought these to replace the pair that came in the knife block I have in the kitchen. They fit well in the hole that was already there. I use them for general household use, ie. cutting coupons and wrapping paper. I've also been using them to open cardboard and plastic packaging, which they've cut through without any trouble. They are stable and the blades make a clean, straight cut in paper. I've had them for about 3 months, and they haven't loosened up or dulled yet. The handles haven't cracked yet either, which is usually where the previous brands have failed. The only drawback that I've found is that the blades and handles don't open up to a full 180 degree angle. They only open about 50 degrees, which I'll gladly deal with if they don't break, cut straight and stay sharp!

These scissors do not easily open and close. It is as if the bolt that holds them together is much too tight. When I can get them open, they do not cut well, probably because the blades cannot cut quickly.
Perhaps they were defective. Nonetheless, I won't another pair of them, especially since they are relatively expensive.
Comments about Westcott® 9" Kleenearth® Recycled Scissors, Straight-Handle:
These scissors seem great so far. I've had them about a month. They are comfortable to use & do the job. I really like that they are partially made of recycled materials!
