The Dark Roast Winner
Peet's Major Dickason's Blend is far and away my top pick for a silky smooth dark roast cup of coffee. Sublime robust flavor with no bitter aftertaste whatsoever. I've tried other dark roasts and this is the best. Peet's House Blend is a close runner up.

Is the world upside down?
Most of the reviews on this coffee are off the chart, so, I tried. Only after I ordered, did I see the reviews saying it tastes like an "ashtray", and those were spot on. Bitter, awful-tasting. I'm going to have to force myself to use these up or offer then to visitors.

This is the only coffee that you can make a big cup (10 oz) that is strong enough. And this is the only flavor of Peet's that I like.

Perfect first cup for black coffee drinker
I go slightly dark for the day’s first cup. Others I liked have come and gone but Major D has stood the test of time. A true stranded on a desert island coffee for me. Or Black Rifle Just Black would satisfy as well.

My Peets Review
I am a staunch Peet's French Roast kind a guy. Major Dickason's Blend was on sale, so I decided to try it. It's as good or better than the French Roast. Dark and bold with a rich aroma. Now I have two favorite Peet's Coffees.
