The lead snaps with each use. Did not care for the product. Requested Papermate mechanical pencils. Was disappointed.

Lead breaks constantly :/
These pencils are horrible. The lead constantly breaks. Will no longer be ordering these for the nurses at the hospital.

TERRIBLE-Don't waste your money
I go to write with the Staples brand mechanical pencil and the lead pushes back up into the barrel. I cannot write with it at all. I urge you not to waste your money on this really poor quality product. Not worth 10 cents!

these pencils in no way compared to the Papermate. When I went to the store the Papermate was sold out and an associate told me that they were no longer available and helped me order these online. Poor quality. Had to throw out. I would actually not give it any stars but one was the lowest number that I could check.

Do not recommend
You won't save any money with these pencils. With even the slightest pressure while writing the lead breaks. I go through one in about 2 days, as opposed to months with other brands.

They are pencils, but not good ones
The only good thing about this pencil is that is, in fact, a pencil. The lead breaks constantly which is infuriating, and I usually use .5 mm. I will not be buying Staples brand pencils again.

very hard to use
since the eraser end must be pushed to extend the lead, when your are erasing the lead extends! silly engineering. the eraser end is flimsy. the eraser falls out. just not well designed at all. the papermater version is totally better.

THE BEST PENCILS EVER, please read this!
I use this product almost everyday and love them, these are sleek and organized looking with many wonderful colors. These pencils write very well, also I love the fact the you can put top eraser on them very easily and It looks WONDERFUL! You should most definetly invest in these outstanding Staples brand mechanical pencils.

While I consider myself 'Value Oriented,' I still need to have supplies and equipment that work. I will even at times put up with items that aren't of the very best quality if they are a little less expensive.
