#2 Mechanical the best
Have always used 0.7mm mechanical for work. Lately, needed a .9mm for other work requiring #2 lead pencil. I still use 0.7mm requiring certain work.

Working Appraiser using pencels
I do a lot of taking field notes and drawing/sketching out houses for appraisal. This pencil works ok; however' it separates easily when using on a clip board and pulling the pencil off the end of the clip board, will not buy this type again.

Pentel Twist-Erase III Mechanical Pencil, 0.9mm, #2 Medium Lead, 2/Pac
Lead writing worked fine, the extra erasers were too small in fitting for refill. Since we have our bigger separate erasers this did not matter, but if needed you wouldn’t buy again.

I really like these pencils.

Reason for purchase
I discovered the 0.7 mm pencil wrote too lightly for me to see well in my course, so I bought the largest width I could find which was 0.9 mm thick.

Fine set of unbreakable leads in mechanical pencil
Finally, it seems like there is a decent set of thick-enough leads to keep from snapping off the leads under normal pencil-writing activities (0.9mm) with a thoughtfully-designed eraser feature! Hooray for Pentel!
