Book tepair
I bought this book tape to repair an old book. Unfortunately the book had a cloth cover front and back and this tape would not stay on. It appears to be a good tape—- just not in cloth.

Great Book tape !!!!!
24th Aug 2022 My little Pug dog chewed-up two of my books, @ the conors. I was able to hide the damage with heavy paper, & then re-inforced all with your book tape. Mission completed !!!! Thank you Cheers. Chuck.

"Book Tape" good for fixing old books, but could be better
3M Book Tape does well what it should: reinforces and repairs frail old books. Heavy tape with excellent adhesion, available in several widths. (I found 2" wide best.) However, it is SHINY and looks unsightly when applied to a cloth covered book, as many older books are. Good results, could be better...
The online presentation would be more useful if the instructions for application were available or visible. The reason is that selection of the width of tape needed depends on the way it is applied and the thickness of the book. Without instructions, selection of the width is just a guess.

Made to Last Longer
To repair books you want to last more than just a few years, DON'T use clear packing tape, it wasn't designed to last. Book tape withstands years of handling. It is thicker, and yet seems to conform better to irregular surfaces. I also use it to "laminate" things like cheap cardboard ID cards. One roll lasts a long time. Scotch is the best brand of book tape I've found.
