We Love it!
Preschool and Kindergarten kids are naturally curious about the world and what lives in it. Help your child get excited about learning with the GeoSafari® Jr. My First Microscope. This microscope can magnify any small object- flat or dimensional- at 8x. This is a real working microscope made just for little hands.
It is designed specifically for kids, so it is built wi...

I will not buy this product again!
I bought two of these for our classrooms. One arrived broken. I returned one and the replacement arrived broken. Used the unbroken one for one day in the classroom and picked it up and it broke in my hand while carrying it. So disappointed as the students were very eager. The knobs are not strong. The part where the viewer attaches to the base is very flimsy and on all ...

Broke too easily
First one was a gift and used for a little while before breaking very easily in a way that could not be fixed. Just got a second one and broke the same place within a few minutes of being out of the box. My child was very excited about this toy but sad when she can no longer use it.

Not very sturdy
Should be fun for examining small objects with a toddler. However it is not well made. The front piece with the eye pieces fell off as I opened the box. The wires for the light are still intact so I will attempt to glue it so we can get a little use out of it. Since it was a gift I cannot return it.

Great product; not sure about magnification
My son loves the idea of this microscope and is always keen to have a look through it but he gets bored quite quickly because, and this may just be a problem with my particular example, the magnification is rather disappointing. In no circumstances is it anything approaching 8x. It seems more like 1.5x - that is, something that is about an inch across will appear under ...

Science is fun!
We received this in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to get my 4 year old daughter started in the science field. Kids are naturally curious and love to learn. The microscope is easy to use and I am comfortable letting her walk around with it. It's solid plastic. It's brightly colored with all the basic parts of a regular microscope - lens, light, knob, etc. ...

Every child should have this
Definitely meant for 3 yr olds. This is child friendly, entertains kids for a long time and it introduces science.

Cool, fun toy!
My 3.5 yr old daughter loved this out of the box! She started putting her little pet shop animals on it and used it as a house. Lo and behold, I showed her we could do so much more with it! We started to view her little pet shop toys under the microscope and she thought it was very neat. Little scientific tools like these for toddlers are precious, in my opinion. It's a...

Genius
We are really enjoying his microscope. I love watching my son take his toy cars and examine them under the microscope. The microscope encourages exploration and discovery. When he finds something interesting, he will call mom or dad to also take a look. I enjoy the interaction the microscope toy allows for us to have as a family as well as allowing mom and dad to encour...

A great purchase to inspire budding young scientists!
A few years ago, I bought a different brand of "child" microscope, and it turned out to be WAY too complex--both in terms of assembly and use. Not the case with this product. Assembly is literally as simple as inserting batteries, and my three-year-old was INDEPENDENTLY having a blast in no time. She's examined leaves, coins--even Barbie shoes! Plus, my six year old did...

Good introductory microscope
I like that it is lightweight so it's easy to carry around. We will start bringing it with us to the park so she can look for bugs, grass, sticks, etc. I also like that no batteries are required - only if you want to use the light. I think overall this is a good toy for a young toddler to get introduced to science.

Great for little kids who like to examine and explore!
We received this product free for review, and my 4-year-old son (who is a HUGE "Sid The Science Kid" fan) loved it right out of the box. In fact, he even took it to bed with him the first night. As a mom, I like how easy it is for him to use on his own and how durable it is (no worries about him breaking it for sure). I also like that it has a light to help him see the ...

Sturdy and Toddler-friendly
We received this toy in exchange for our opinion and review, but I would have purchased it regardless. My two year old daughter has already been all around the living room finding decorative sticks and acorns to "check out" under the microscope, and has plans to bring it to the backyard after her nap. I wasn't sure that she would understand how to look through the two l...

Perfect for your budding scientist
My 5 year old loves this product. My 2 year old has not been able to break it either! We are planning a beach trip to pick up shells and other ocean debris to closer inspect under the microscope. It was super easy to set up and get going. I also think this will be a great birthday gift for friends children. Super fun, affordable but also educational.

I really like this microscope, durable and easy to use.y one negative is that I wish it came with slides to encourage the discovery right off the bat.

We just got this product only 4 days ago but already our kids love it. They have so much fun playing with and also we have been able to use it as a teaching tools so they can learn about different objects either in our kitchen or our backyard. My 4 year old loves it ! He puts all sorts of small toys to "check them out." Perfect introduction to science. I like that toys from the $1 store like fake bugs can go great with it.

This is a perfect first microscope for toddlers! As a mom and an elementary school teacher, I am pleased with this product, because it helps little ones get excited about science! My 3 year old loves this microscope, and it is easy for her to look through. The eyepiece is similar to using binoculars, and the light is bright and works well. My 6 year old enjoyed trying i...

Great for introduction to science and discovery!
A perfect toy for a 3 or 4-year-old! My daughter had a blast finding tons of stuff around our house and our backyard and then looking at it "up close." She especially loved when she realized that the smaller the item was, the more fun it was to look at under the microscope. Great opportunity for discovery and curiosity. (For what it's worth, my 1 1/2 year old also is ob...

Great easy entry into the world of science!
Our preschooler absolutely loves this microscope. It works and is really easy to use, right out of the box. I love that the batteries are not only included but already pre-installed.
I'd worried that it may be too advanced for our daughter since she's only two and a half but after showing her how to turn the dials only a few times, she can do it all by herself. She lov...
