Monoprice 106015 6' DisplayPort to DVI Cable, White
Plugged the cable into the desktop and the second monitor. It immediately extended display for my second monitor without installing additional drivers. Worked beautifully!

It mostly works, but really, buy a new display if you’ve been delaying like I have!
This is a really esoteric connection requirement. I bought my fabulous HD display at Staples several years ago and it worked great with the HD options back then. Now I don’t have an HDMI hardware option but I have a much newer computer, hence the need to connect one to the other because if I don’t my display quality decreases.
