I’f you have an HP printer use on HP new cartridges. Never use after market n your printer will last n last. Mine is now 6 years old

Hi Al I am sorry about the confusion but the ink does not actually expire. There is a date provided which indicates when the warranty ends kind of like a grocery "pull date". If you get a cartridge whose warranty date has passed it could very well work perfectly if it was stored properly. We just can't trust that after that amount of time (usually about two years) someone hasn't had it sitting in a truck in broiling hot weather or there wasn't another situation that could harm the useful life of the cartridge.
